Lodging - Bridge Day 2011

Vertical Visions has a contract for 100 hotel rooms with the Holiday Lodge Oak Hill where BASE jumper registration, seminars, meetings, and the post-jump party will take place. Hotel rooms are first-come, first-served for Bridge Day 2011 BASE jumpers only and they'll likely be sold out within hours. To reserve a hotel room at the Holiday Lodge Oak Hill, you must purchase a jump pass starting on July 1, 2011 at 2pm EDT and read the instructions located in the confirmation email that is automatically sent to you. This email will contain your order number and a special code that you must provide to the Holiday Lodge Oak Hill when calling them. Most jumpers prefer to stay here, although there are numerous other lodging choices nearby (see below).

For those on a budget, but prefering to stay close to the Holiday Lodge Oak Hill, camping with hot showers will be available onsite behind the hotel.

Holiday Lodge Oak Hill

Details: Located directly off Rt. 19 at the "Oyler Ave." exit, the Holiday Lodge Oak Hill is Bridge Day headquarters for BASE jumpers with registration, seminars, the BASE gear trade show, and all meetings and parties throughout the weekend.

Location: 340 Oyler Avenue, Oak Hill, WV 25901. Approximately 6 miles South of the New River Gorge Bridge directly next to Rt. 19.
Total Rooms: 119 (100 are available to registered jumpers). Camping with hot showers is also permitted on the hotel property. A room layout image is available.
Pet Policy: Pet friendly (small pets only). There will be a $50.00 fee per "pet room". The following restrictions apply: Pets must be supervised while in the hotel and in the hotel room, pets must be leased in public areas, and pets left in a room unattended must be crated (notification must also be made to the hotel front desk)
Prices: $90/night (Sunday-Thursday) and $165/night (Friday-Saturday). There is a two-night minimum for Friday and Saturday (no Saturday checkouts will be permitted). On October 1st (the deadline for canceling your reservation), the Holiday Lodge will charge your credit card for your entire stay. Campsites for the Bridge Day weekend are $60.
Reservations: Jumpers must call this hotel directly to reserve a hotel room using the special code sent via email after purchasing jump passes (first-come, first-served). The jumper's order number must be provided when making reservations.

Camping Onsite: Camping outside the Holiday Lodge is permitted at $60 for the weekend (per tent). Each campsite must have a tag from the hotel or hotel personnel will remove the site. These sites can be reserved in advance with our Assistant General Manager. Campsite reservations will start on September 1, 2011 and are payable by cash only upon day of arrival. Campers will lose their spot if they have not checked in by 6:00am the following day of the reservation and campsites may be given to others. Tents only.
Other Info: Maximum of 5 people per room. Check-in time 4PM, check-out by 11AM. Rollaways available on a first come, first serve basis at $10.00 + tax per night. Cribs are complimentary on a first-come, first-served basis. No RV camping or parking permitted, as we have limited space with a full hotel. There is plenty of room to pack in the lobby. The hotel has asked that there be NO parachutes in the hallways as this is a fire hazard (jumpers could be cited by local authorities for any violations). Also, please don't hang anything on mirrors, walls, doors, etc. Jumpers are not permitted to use and/or move hotel furnishing, plants, etc. Jumpers are responsible for organizing their own shipping pickups and the hotel is not responsible for any packages. Please DO NOT call the Holiday Lodge to reserve rooms unless you have purchased a jump pass and received further instructions in the confirmation email.

• From the South via I-77: Take I-77 North/I-64 West and then take Exit 48 (Beckley/Summersville) to US Route 19. From the toll booth, take US Route 19 North approximately 13 miles and get off the Oyler Avenue exit. Turn left, proceed approximately 500 feet, and you'll see the hotel entrance.
• From the East Via I-64: Take I-64 West/I-77 North and then take Exit 48 (Beckley/Summersville) to US Route 19. From the toll booth take US Route 19 North approximately 13 miles and get off the Oyler Avenue exit. Turn left, proceed approximately 500 feet, and you'll see the hotel entrance.
• From the North and West via I-77 and I-64: From Charleston WV, take I-77 South/I-64 East to Exit 48 (Beckley/Summersville) to US Route 19. From the toll booth take US Rt. 19 North approximately 13 miles and get off the Oyler Avenue exit. Turn left, proceed approximately 500 feet, and you'll see the hotel entrance.
• From the North via I-79: Take Exit 57 to US Route 19 (Beckley). Go 56 miles south on US Route 19 and get off the Oyler Avenue exit. Turn right and you'll see the hotel entrance.

Details: This is the newest hotel in the area located directly off Rt. 19. It is located approximately 2 miles from jumper headquarters (Holiday Lodge Oak Hill). In the past, this hotel was called the "New River Inn" and "Super 8".

Total Cabins: 8
Details: Their eight cabins can hold 8-14 people and jumpers have stayed here in the past. They are located approximately 8 miles from jumper headquarters (Holiday Lodge).
Pet Policy: No pets.
Prices: $140-$610 per cabin during Bridge Day week.
