| Schedule of Events - Bridge Day 2008 |
| July 1 |
2pm (EDT): Jumper registration and trade show booth registration begins. More than 100 hotel rooms will be given to jumpers who request them during online registration - first come, first served. |
| July 15-31 |
Bridge Day registrants will be informed via email if their payments have been processed and jump slots are confirmed. Registrants can also login to our website and check their order status by clicking "My Order History" (please be patient with order status updates). If you registered early enough to be eligible for a hotel room, we'll email you with further instructions on how to secure your room. |
| August 1-7 |
Jumpers who registered early enough to receive one of our 100+ hotel rooms will be required to contact the Holiday Inn Oak Hill during this time period. Jumpers must reserve their rooms by providing a credit card and their entire stay will be billed on October 1. |
| September 1 |
Any jumpers who have not previously registered for Bridge Day since 2002 will undergo a background check by the Fayetteville Sheriff. |
| October 1 |
Deadline for cancelling Holiday Inn Oak Hill hotel rooms. Your credit card will be charged for the entire stay and no refunds. |
| October 15 |
8:00am: Start of the 4-day Bridge Day First BASE Jump Course taught by The Snake River BASE Academy.
1:30pm: Final public meeting of the Bridge Day Commission (BDC) at the Fayette County Courthouse. Jumpers are highly encouraged to attend. |
| October 16 |
Jumpers begin arriving in Fayetteville.
5pm-8pm: BASE Gear Trade Show in the Holiday Inn ballroom. Many BASE gear vendors will be onsite selling gear and other parachute related products.
5pm-8pm: Early check-in, gear inspection, waiver, ID badges, etc. in the Holiday Inn ballroom. Remember, jumpers must register onsite with us at the Holiday Inn in order to jump at Bridge Day (gear checks, waiver, goodie bag, etc.).
9pm: BASE Videofest in the Holiday Inn bar. Cool BASE videos, cold drinks! |
| October 17 |
8am-4pm: The Bridge Day Introductory Course taught by the Snake River BASE Academy at the Holiday Inn Oak Hill racquetball court (bottom floor).
9am-5pm: Check-in, gear inspection, waiver, ID badges, etc. in the Holiday Inn ballroom. Jumpers must check in and register by 5pm, otherwise your slot may be lost or late fees will be applied.
9am-5pm: BASE Gear Trade Show in the Holiday Inn ballroom. Many BASE gear vendors will be onsite selling gear and other parachute related products.
10am: Packing seminars held all day in the Holiday Inn lobby. Free admission.
3pm: Exit point staff briefing in rear parking lot of Holiday Inn. All staff must attend.
5pm: Group panoramic photo to be taken of all 450+ jumpers and staff at the front of the Holiday Inn. Please be there!
7pm-8:30pm: Mandatory jumper briefing in the Holiday Inn ballroom to include: Weather briefings, river conditions, landing area details, safety video and briefings, rappeller briefing, NPS Ranger briefing, water rescue briefing, LZ coordinator briefing, jumping schedule, etc. ALL JUMPERS MUST ATTEND THIS MEETING! WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO GROUND YOU IF YOU FAIL TO ATTEND. This is necessary because if you fail to learn about potentially deadly river conditions, water rescue techniques that may save your life, rappelling lines behind you on deployment, appropriate landing areas, and other important procedures and information, you could place spectators and rescue personnel at risk. |
October 18 (Bridge Day) |
6:00am: Vertical Visions van #1 leaves Holiday Inn for landing zone.
6:30am: Boom truck leaves Holiday Inn for exit point.
7:00am: Vertical Visions vans #2-3 leave Holiday Inn for landing zone.
8:00am: Bus leaves Holiday Inn for top of New River Gorge Bridge (anyone can ride).
9am-3pm: BASE jumping for six hours from the New River Gorge Bridge.
3:15pm-3:45pm: Vans #1-3 leave LZ for Holiday Inn Oak Hill, stopping by Dirty Ernies and Quality Inn New River.
6pm: Party begins with free pizza, beer, soda, etc. Photographers will have jump photos and enlargements for purchase, in addition to videos being shown in the Holiday Inn ballroom. Video crew will be showing jumper videos they captured earlier in the day.
7pm: Jumper meeting in the Holiday Inn ballroom to announce BASE Videofest winners, overall statistics, thanks to staff and volunteers, video of jumps, etc. BASE Videofest winners will have their videos shown on two big screen TV's. Party continues through the night. |

Vertical Visions and the Bridge Day Commission will destroy all SSN's and passport information that was used for background checks. |
