Schedule of Events - Bridge Day 2009
July 1 2pm (EDT): Jumper registration and trade show booth registration begins.
July 15-31 Jumpers are sent emails confirming payments and listing their jump pass position (Groups 1-4). Registrants can also login to our website and check their order status by clicking "My Order History" (please be patient with order status updates).
July 25-31 Lodging: Staff members and vendors must call to reserve one of our contracted hotel, motel, cabin, or campground options.
August 1 2pm (EDT): Registered jumpers can call to reserve one of our contracted hotel, motel, cabin, or campground options (first-come, first-served). Please don't call before 2pm EDT on August 1, 2009.
September 1 Background Checks: Jumpers who have not previously registered for Bridge Day since 2002 will undergo a background check by the Fayetteville Sheriff.
October 13 (Tuesday) Jumpers begin to arrive in Fayetteville.

8am: Start of the 4-day Bridge Day First BASE Jump Course taught by The Snake River BASE Academy. Classes will be held at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge.

12pm-Sunset: Skydiving is available at the Fayette Airport for inexperienced or experienced jumpers. Visit the Tri-State Skydivers web site for further information.

October 14 (Wednesday) 1:30pm: Final public meeting of the Bridge Day Commission (BDC) at the Fayette County Courthouse. Jumpers are highly encouraged to attend.

12pm-Sunset: Skydiving is available at the Fayette Airport for inexperienced or experienced jumpers. Visit the Tri-State Skydivers web site for further information.

October 15 (Thursday) 12pm-Sunset: Skydiving is available at the Fayette Airport for inexperienced or experienced jumpers. Visit the Tri-State Skydivers web site for further information.

5pm-8pm: Early check-in, gear inspection, waiver, ID badges, etc. at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge. Remember, jumpers must register onsite with us in order to jump at Bridge Day (gear checks, waiver, goodie bag, etc.).

5pm-?pm: BASE Gear Trade Show at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge. Many BASE gear vendors will be onsite selling gear and other parachute related products.

9pm: BASE Videofest at River Expeditions' Red Dog River Saloon. Cool BASE videos and cold drinks!

October 16 (Friday) 8am-4pm: The Bridge Day Introductory Course taught by the Snake River BASE Academy will be held at River Expeditions' Restaurant/Dining Area.

9am-4pm: Check-in, gear inspection, waiver, ID badges, etc. at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge. Jumpers must check in and register by 4pm, otherwise your slot may be lost or late fees will be applied. If you think you might arrive late, please take advantage of our late arrival option to avoid the late fee.

9am-?pm: BASE Gear Trade Show at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge. Many BASE gear vendors will be onsite selling gear and other parachute related products.

10am: Packing seminar held at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge (2nd Floor). Free admission.

1pm: Packing seminar held at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge (2nd Floor). Free admission.

2pm: Apex BASE gear introduction/packing demo for the new TLs container and FLiK UltraLite canopy (PIA style lecture). Includes information on their Through Loop Channel (TLC) - New, patent pending; Tail Pocket at top of container (new); Canopy folds with through loops and TLC; Closing the TL and TLs with dual through loops; Q&A session; DPx demo with all the camping toys. Free admission. Location: River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge.

3pm: Exit point staff briefing at the entrance to River Expeditions' Red Dog River Saloon. All exit point staff must attend.

3pm: Packing seminar held at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge (2nd Floor). Free admission.

5:00pm: Group panoramic photo to be taken of all 450+ jumpers and staff at the entrance to the River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge. Free digital copies for all jumpers. Please be there!

7pm-8:30pm: Jumper briefing at River Expeditions' Restaurant/Dining Area to include: Weather briefings, river conditions, landing area details, safety video and briefings, rappeller briefing, NPS Ranger briefing, water rescue briefing, LZ coordinator briefing, jumping schedule, etc.

ALL NEW BRIDGE DAY JUMPERS MUST ATTEND THIS MEETING!  WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO GROUND NEW JUMPERS IF THEY FAIL TO ATTEND. If you fail to learn about potentially deadly river conditions, water rescue techniques that may save your life, rappelling lines behind you on deployment, appropriate landing areas, and other important procedures and information, you could place spectators and rescue personnel at risk.

October 17
(Bridge Day)
6:00am: Vertical Visions van #1 leaves River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge for landing zone (van pass holders only, please).

6:30am: Vertical Visions boom crane and rental truck leave River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge. Arrives at Dirty Ernies intersection at 6:50am. Slowly moves toward exit point at 7:00am.

7:00am: Vertical Visions vans #2 and #3 leave River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge for LZ (van pass holders only, please).

8:00am: Two 40-passenger buses leave River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge for exit point (free for jumpers to ride).

8:30am to 3:15pm - Vertical Visions vans #1-2 begin hauling jumpers, staff, and people with van passes to the exit point and then back down to the LZ (continuous loops all day). At least five stopping points are identified on the Van Map.

9am-3pm: BASE jumping for six hours from the New River Gorge Bridge.

3:15pm - One bus leaves top of Fayette Station Road (Rt. 19 intersection) for River Expeditions (free for anyone to ride)

3:15pm-3:45pm: Vertical Visions vans #1-3 leave LZ for River Expeditions, stopping by Dirty Ernies, Quality Inn New River, and Comfort Inn New River (if needed).

4:00pm - Vertical Visions' boom crane and rental truck leave exit point for River Expeditions (anyone can ride).

5:00pm: Party begins at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge with free pizza, beer, soda, etc. (photo ID and Bridge Day jump badge required). Photographers will have jump photos and enlargements for purchase, in addition to videos being shown at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge and Red Dog River Saloon. Video crew will be showing jumper videos they captured earlier in the day.

7pm: Jumper meeting and awards ceremony at River Expeditions' Restaurant/Dining Area to announce BASE Videofest winners, overall statistics, thanks to staff and volunteers, video of jumps, etc. BASE Videofest winners will have their videos shown on two big screen TV's. Party continues through the night at River Expeditions' Fire Creek Lodge.

October 18 9am-Sunset: Skydiving is available at the Fayette Airport for inexperienced or experienced jumpers. Visit the Tri-State Skydivers web site for further information.
Late October Vertical Visions and the Bridge Day Commission will destroy all SSN's and passport information that was used for background checks.
