Skydiving
Tri-State Skydivers, owned by Bridge Day BASE jumper Larry LeMaster, is bringing skydiving for experienced and inexperienced jumpers to Bridge Day (October 12-18) at the New River Gorge Airport (3 miles Northeast of the New River Gorge Bridge). They'll have a Cessna 182 and tandem skydives will be available for those wanting to make their first skydive (no experience required). Prices are $17 for hop and pops (4,000ft and below), $22 to 10,000ft, and $250 for tandems (reservations require a $50 deposit). Video of your jump is also available. Visit the Tri-State Skydivers web site for further information and prices. You can also contact Larry Lemaster at (740)894-JUMP(5867) with your questions. Larry is also looking for experienced jumpers to handle tandems, video, and packing. Please reference the Bridge Day schedule for operating hours.
From Larry LeMaster:
We are going to try camping at the airport as well for @$5 a day, just to pay for porta pottys. It's first-come, first-served and I'm not sure how many we can have there yet. People that want to camp there need to contact me. No showers, unless we have a big demand, like 10 or more campers, then I'll get a portable unit. If we do that then camping will be more like $10-15 a day. I'll have someone there selling sandwiches during the day too. Might have a party Wednesday night (band and everything). I will be having a shuttle vehicle parked at the North end of the bridge on Bridge Day (free rides to airport and back).

Beyond Bridge Day week, we recommend Tri-State Skydivers and Skydive Pennsylvania for anyone who wants to learn how to skydive in the West Virginia area.
